I am all for aesthetics but it is difficult to find the right stuff and people with the right skill set to create it. We once needed something designed in our house, and the mason just told us point blank that it could not be done. If you visit South India, you will find that even modern houses have doors that are very ornate usually made from chiseled teak wood. Very difficult to find that in Bombay.
