I think if my parents understood this when I was little, it would have probably helped me a lot in my academics. I was a lot brighter than I got credit for. I would be distracted and day dreaming all the time. But, they never thought I had a problem. They thought I was being difficult. It is only during my post grad that I could put a finger on my problem and once you know what is wrong, it is easier to deal with it.

I think countries like the US have a lot more awareness with regards to these things. I don't blame my parents. They weren't aware of this either.
