I think, this is the major point. It is not about making female friends, it is difficult to make any friends after a certain age. Not saying it isn't possible, but it is difficult. Most people already have a friend circle of their own and have no inclination in making new ones. for eg, the few female friends I have don't stay in the same city or the same country. I am not extremely social either. So, if you look at me going about my day to day life, I may not seem like a person with many friends. With online friendships, I have serious trust issues :D
